This resource includes 4 easy to implement October themed math centers. The concepts covered include odd and even number differentiation and graphing data, addition sentences, equivalent expressions, and coin counting (quarters, dimes, nickels, pennies). All activities are straight-line cuts to make prep super easy!
1. Odd & Even
Students will pull number cards out of a bag (brown paper lunch bag works fine!) and determine if it is an odd or even number. Students will complete 10 grabs from the bag and record the data on the bar graph sheet. Students will answer questions about their data.
2. Addition Puzzles
Students will read a number sentence and find the matching sum. Addition sentences include a variety of doubles and doubles plus one. Students will then complete the cut & paste worksheet to demonstrate their understanding.
3. Equivalent Expressions
There are several ways to play. Students can match equivalent expressions, or play a game of Memory and have students flip over two cards and try to find the matching expression. Great for memorization!
4. Money Match
Students will count money cards and match it to the proper sum. The cards include adding with quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies. Both sides of the coins are included within this game to ensure recognition and practice of both heads/tails.
