This is a great project for October! The students will choose a book character and decorate their pumpkin based on the character. They can paint it, add wigs, googly eyes, hair, string, or anything to make it as creative as possible. This is interdisciplinary because not only do they complete a response log, but after the kids bring in the pumpkin we use about four of them to do mathmatics activities to include: estimating the weight, height, circumference, number of seeds, and data before and after I cut open the top of each pumpkin. The download includes a parent letter, the response log, and the math activity page.
