It’s October and who doesn’t love all things Halloween. Get your students excited by giving them an opportunity to turn their weekly reading stories into stories that include zombies, Haunted Houses, and corn mazes. The choices use some of the BLOOM’s & SCAMPER strategies that students can use to generate new and alternative ideas. SCAMPER is an acronym for Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put To Other Uses, Eliminate, and Rearrange. It is a strategy to support creative, divergent thinking. This is a great opportunity to get your students writing about the text in a fun and engaging way.
