A center inspired by my need to review odd and even numbers, and several of my students' fascination with rocks. I have used them in one of my other centers, "Flower Pot Sorting Center". They love those things! The rocks keep them coming back. They are practicing, and they think that they are just playing.
This center takes a fun and contemporary idea, such as rock climbing, and combines it with a 3-step review. During the game, odd and even numbers will be identified on cards and when rolling the dice. After the game, students will show their independent understanding by completing page 7.
Good discussion should come easily while students learn and play. This is a good mix of cooperative and independent work.
It can be done in a whole group setting with several game boards, or as a center.
