PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Clovis the Great was one the Kings of the early Franks and the person, who, with his wife’s encouragement, brought Christianity to Northern Europe. However, he was also a violent person who ruled a violent society. The clearest picture of Clovis is provided by Gregory of Tours, a Christian monk, in his History of the Franks. The students will be reading a portion of Clovis life from History of the Franks, and creating a poem, “Odious to Clovis,” where you will describe the life and times of this key figure of early medieval Europe. A Common Core approach with the students reading a primary source and concisely demonstrating their understanding in verse.
