Get your students talking about the characters, plot twists, and deeper thematic messages in Homer's classic tale, The Odyssey. This 24-slide Powerpoint (one slide per book/chapter of the poem) will visually grab your students' eyes and also challenge their brains as they work through all 24 "books" of The Odyssey.
Ideal for small group and/or full class Odyssey discussions, but I also use them occasionally during the unit for pop-quiz or short-answer in-class writing assignments. You could also use these as homework assignments. Each day's questions are specifically tailored to the events in the previous night's reading assignment. No generalized or filler questions here. All questions will require students to dig back into the text of The Odyssey, take a deeper look, and master the content.
Use the slides every day for 24 full lessons or use them periodically to supplement your current Odyssey unit plan.
Vibrant color and contrast for sharp projection or printing/copying.
Note: This product aligns with the Robert Fitzgerald translation of The Odyssey. If you use a different version, spellings of names/order of events may differ.
