In this booklet, there are five Jeopardy games and five Millionaire games devised for teachers of Homer's Odyssey. There is one Jeopardy and one Millionaire game for Books I-VI, VII-XII, XIII-XVIII, and XIX-XXIV, then one of each game to cover the whole book.Examples of Jeopardy categories are Islands, Animals, Epithets,Who Slew Whom?,etc. An example of a Jeopardy question is :100 of these ovine creatures were sacrificed at a hecatomb - the answer is 100. Another is : Homer called this warrior "the warlike son of Tydeus" - the answer is Diomedes. An example of a Millionaire question is: What animal wounded Odyssseus on Parnassus, leaving the easily recognized scar? a) wolf b) lion c) bull d) boar - the answer is boar.
The booklet includes directions and suggestions for classroom use and has 26 pages. The questions are based on the Robert Fagles translation of the Odyssey but could be successfully used by teachers using other translations.
