This is a set of discussion questions for the fourth chapter/section of Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men. The activity consists of five broad, multi-faceted questions that give students the opportunity to think about and discuss the main ideas in the fourth chapter: the themes of the American Dream and loneliness, discrimination, prediction, using textual evidence to support a point, and characterization. Teachers can use these questions as the basis for cooperative group learning, individual student completion in class or for homework, or as the basis for whole-class discussion/instruction.
