Once you have taken a running record, how can you use the results? This packet is a follow-up to “Off and Running with Running Records” (a free download), and it provides a variety of information about what to do if you are concerned about your student’s understanding of concepts of print. This packet includes a description of concepts of print and where concepts of print fit in the CCSS. It includes an explanation of typical concerns and how to address them. The strategies presented can be used with the whole class, in guided reading groups, by paraeducators and classroom volunteers, or in literacy stations. Finally, there is a letter to families describing how to reinforce concepts of print at home.
