ZAP is an awesome game that students can play around any subject matter. You need a coffee can or a small container to keep your game pieces in. Cut and laminate the cards. Students will take turns drawing cards and determining whether the saying on the card is an oxymoron, an onomatopoeia, or neither. Students can continue to draw cards and earn points for right answers. But beware: draw a zap card and lose all the cards you have by returning them to the can! Students can play individually, in small groups, or whole class, divided into teams! Once your students encounter ZAP, they will be begging for more! I am listing a whole series of these for figurative language and will create a bundle set for your convenience!
