This slideshow provides viewers with photos from Old Fort Harrod State Park in Harrodsburg, KY. Fort Harrod is the first permanent settlement in Kentucky and allows visitors to view a replica of the original fort, the marriage temple of Abraham Lincoln's parents, and the (technical) largest Orange Osage Tree in the nation. Some of the photos include the outside and inside views of the fort, the on-site broom maker and school teacher, and the oldest cemetery west of the Allegheny Mountains. If you are planning to visit the fort, this slideshow is great for preparing students for what they will see. If you can't make it, this slideshow will allow students to get a glimpse of the fort and all it has to offer. Each of the slides can also be printed individually and used as a bulletin board decoration.
