Sometimes all it takes is a familiar song routine to get clients engaged (or re-engaged!) within a teletherapy session. Guide your students through this classic tune while supporting a variety of speech and language skills.
CLINICAL TARGET MASH-UP: At the most basic level, work on verbal participation and reciprocal turn taking by offering your client pause prompts. Using the same routine across sessions allows your client to gain confidence and mastery of skills as they offer more and more participation as times goes on! If articulation is your focus, target whole word accuracy for farm animal labels; if clients are at a lower level, animal sounds are a great way to encourage imitation and broaden phonemic inventories.
BONUS: Farm animals in fields of 2-5 are offered as a bonus activity (13 slides) following the song. This allows you to target anything from receptive identification of animal vocabulary to a client’s ability to expressively generate core attributes for a targeted animals within a back and forth “guessing game” with the clinician.
