Welcome to my Olympic Symbols Publisher Project. Every year, I have a theme from which all my projects are created. This year, in honor of the 2014 Winter Olympics, the theme is The Olympics. This project explores the history and meaning behind 2 Olympic symbols. The students will create a booklet in Publisher with a title page, an article about each symbol and on page 4, they will do a creative writing exercise where they will tell about their favorite parts of the Olympics. This project uses text boxes, Word Art, Clip Art and inserting pictures off the internet. In addition, they will learn how to set up a booklet format in Publisher. I found a really good website with easy to read information about the Olympic Symbols. This project has it all, history, sports, creative writing all rolled up into one really fun unit. The curriculum package includes a sample of the completed project, research sheets and detailed lesson plans with step by step instructions. No computer experience is needed. Please consider purchasing this unit for your classroom. I hope you and your students have as much fun with it as I did with mine.
