This Olympics Research Task requires students to form groups and be given a competing country to research.
Groups will need to be allocated some classroom display space in order to present their information.
This task requires students to research their selected country, finding information such as the national anthem, flag, symbols, etc. and compare their selected country to their own using a Venn Diagram.
Each member of the group is also required to research and prepare an Athlete and Event profile. The Athlete profile includes information such as the athletes date of birth, country representing, past achievements and interesting facts. The Event profile asks students to describe how the event is played, discover when the event was included into the Olympics and the key rules in which competitors must follow.
This Project/Research Task links the Olympics with important skills such as team work, an awareness of rules and different cultures.
