”On a Rainy Day”
Reinforce sight words, making a connection, writing an opinion, and main idea and details with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "On a Rainy Day" mini book practices the sight words I, like, to, do, in, the, my, jump. The story features predictable text and follows kids as they have fun playing outside in the rain. I have included three response activities. First, students will draw a picture of a rainy day activity that they enjoy and write a matching sentence. Second, students will decide whether they would rather be indoors or outdoors on a rainy day. They will draw a picture and write a sentence telling their opinion of that particular preference. Last, students will complete an umbrella and rain main idea and details graphic organizer. Given the main idea, students will draw details from the text.
