This mini-unit for French 3 (or other appropriate level) students includes a Google Presentation with links to 3-4 hours of resources, activities and communicative tasks including:
- An essential question and Can-Do Statements
- Previewing discussion questions
- 2 Interpretive Tasks over Valentine’s Day-themed infographics
- A link to an authentic video about Valentine’s Day celebrations and 2 choices for corresponding tasks and assessments.
- An Interpersonal Task in which students ask and answer questions to gain information from the other’s infographic
- A Cultural Comparison activity in which students fill in a graphic organizer to compare information about Valentine’s Day celebrations in France and the U.S.
- A Presentational Task in which students complete a draft writing process to create a blog post comparing French and American Valentine’s Day celebrations.
