This items is a text impression pre-reading strategy for Todd Sasser's short story "On the Bridge." In a text impression, students are given a list of key words in the order in which they appear in a story. Students must create a story using the exact words in the exact order. As they read, students compare their text impression with the actual story.
As a post-reading activity, students can rewrite the text impression correctly as a comprehension activity.
NOTE: There is no answer key because in the pre-reading part, students' text impressions cannot be incorrect.
