On the Trail to Digital Citizenship: Identify Potential Sources is Lesson 3 in the 5-part program on information literacy and digital citizenship. Lesson 3 focuses on 4 areas: information & research tools found in a library; identifying fiction and nonfiction materials and looking at how they are arranged in the library; how to match resources with our information & research needs; and who to ask for help in finding the best resources for your research needs. Lesson 3 includes informational slides, links to online resources, practice quizzes/exercises, and pre and post assessments. Lesson content centers around Kent State University’s TRAILS online assessment tool that can be used with this program to monitor student progress. (Links to this assessment tool are included in the powerpoint.) You can use this lesson on identifying potential sources by itself OR as part of the 5-part program On the Trail to Digital Citizenship.
