Each year I start my class with a random fact of the day or a quote. I decided this year that I would like to shake things up a little bit. I decided I want to do a "on this day in history" presentation slide each day.
I am quite excited to start this!
This product contains a history fact and explanation for each day of the month of March!
Since I am an English teacher I am going to have the students paraphrase the face and make a personal connection to each of the history facts. This is a difficult skill for my students.
For example: On September 13, 1814 Francis Scott Key pens "The Star Spangled Banner".
Student connections could be: I hear the song at each of my baseball games. I have seen the actual flag that inspired this song at the American History Museum. Etc...
