One-breath boxes are a great way to have your students practice fluency. Your students simply take a deep breath and try to correctly read the words in each box.
The first box starts with the least amount of words. Most students should read the first box (in one breath) with ease. Each box after the first, gradually gets larger (and harder) as more words are included.
Have students take a deep breath and try and read all words in the first box. Have them take another deep breath and try and read the second box, repeat until all boxes are read. As an extra challenge-- have students take a really big breath and try and read ALL of the boxes.
