One Brown Bunny is an adorable book written by Marion Dane Bauer. It's about a little bunny who goes out looking for some friends to play with. Everyone leaves him until the end in which they all show up to play.
This Reader's Theater has parts for 3 people. However, you could double up the parts and have the students read chorally. I incorporated the word ALL so that ALL students read in unison at certain times. This keeps them on their toes!
I have found that students love reading scripts and playing a "part." However, while they are having fun, they are also increasing their reading and speaking fluency.
This book has an AR test. It's number is 128478. The book level is listed as 1.3. However, there are some difficult words in this book such as perched, frowned, vanished, crunched, scurried, fluttered, and disappeared. Therefore, I would recommend this for high 1st or low 2nd.
Reader names are included. You might copy them onto cardstock, hole-punch and lace with yarn to make a necklace. You could also attach the reader names to a long strip of construction paper to make a headband.
Please feel free to modify the script any way in which you would like.
