“One Dollar” is an example of drama skits I write that connect students with true events in history.

This skit is about the response of two neighbors to a Japanese-American family that was placed in an internment camp during World War II.

I write other drama skits about events from various historical time periods that can not only be performed, but used in history and English classrooms as reader's theatre. With the accompanying background information, students understand issues with clarity and emotionally connect with people. That kind of immersion stays with them.
