Reading One Crazy Summer is a necessary novel for students to understand the time in our history during the civil rights movement in the late 1960’s.
There are a variety of instructions for this novel from independent reading to Close reading. These different strategies allow students to analyze text, discuss the books contents and write answers. The variety allows for the students to stay engaged and learn skills necessary when reading for information. I have completed this book as a whole class read aloud. It can be used in a small group but should consider having an instructor part.
