Only the Brave tells the real life story of the elite firefighters, Granite Mountain Hotshots, and the 2013 Yarnell Hill Wildfire that took most of their lives. It is an amazing story of courage and brotherhood. My worksheet contains 45-questions from the film and I have included a key for your convenience.
This movie would be great to show for a Current Event/History class, Geography class when discussing natural disasters, Environmental Studies course, or a Science class when discussing climate/controlled burns/natural disasters. The fire originally started from a lightening strike.
The film is rated PG-13 for thematic content, some sexual references, language and drug material. I would recommend viewing the film before using it in class to make sure it is appropriate for your class.
