: Are you working on identifying Onomatopoeias in literature or using them in writing? If so, your students will enjoy this fun Onomatopoeia themed word search!! If your students are like mine, they love these.
In this theme puzzle, words are found forward, backward, up, down, and diagonal. I would consider it on the challenging side since students are looking for words in all directions.
I use word searches to introduce vocabulary, or even just give it as morning work to give students a preview of the day's topic. They are also great to use in writing. Perfect for a sub, too. Have your students pick a few onomatopoeias from the list to use in their writing activity. Possibly read a few stories though out the week and have students refer to the word search to identify onomatopoeias heard in the story. Use this word search however you would like in your classroom.
