I created this animated PowerPoint to introduce consonant blends, digraphs, and silent letters to my students. The onset sounds are introduced using child-centered stories and animations, making it easier for them to understand why consonant blends, digraphs, and silent letters make the sounds that they do. The animations provide an enjoyable way to repeatedly practice onset sounds. The product contains two PowerPoints. Use the narrated PowerPoint to learn the words/rhythm of the animation stories or present the PPT to the class “as is”. Insert your own voiced narrations into the PowerPoint without recorded narrations or read the script for the animations as they are playing.
