Open & Closed Syllables Centers: Each of the center games should be printed on cardstock and laminated to use yearly.. Directions for each game are on each center game. Note: You may use as many cards as you want for each game and some game boards may be printed back to back to save on cardstock.

Open & Closed Syllable Poster: Poster gives definition of open and closed syllables, syllable pattern & example word of how each kind of syllable is divided.

Open & Closed Syllable Sort( 3 games Fall, Winter & Spring Themed): Children use the Syllable Sorting Chart and sort the word into either open or closed syllables. They can use their white boards to practice separating the words into syllables. Answer Key is provided for each game.

Open & Closed Syllables Roll It! Read It! Words & Sentences: Two types of game cards with open & closed words and sentences. There are 3 game cards of each type., making a total of 12 game cards. Students roll one dice and read the words or sentences in the row they have rolled.

Apple Open & Closed Syllable Game (s): Children place cards face down and take turns drawing a card. If student can read the word, they keep it, if they cannot they must put it back. If they draw a Leaf Card follow its directions They must read all their cards and state whether it is an open or closed syllable. The person who has the most cards wins.

Memory Game: Make two sets of the word cards and children place the cards face down in rows. They take turns turning two cards over to see if they have matched the same words. If it does they keep both cards after stating whether they are open or closed syllables. If there is not match they turn the cards back over and the next child has a turn. The person who has the most matches wins the game.

If they draw a Snowflake Card follow its directions They must read all their cards and state whether it is an open or closed syllable. The person who has the most cards wins.
