Spice up your classroom management with this alternative to the standard clip up/clip down behavior chart! We have found that our students tend to get burned out or disinterested in our behavior charts after the first few months of school; to keep them engaged and thinking about their choices, we modify our chart slogans to tie in with thematic units (in this case, with our SRA Open Court "Survival" unit). Instead of clipping down to "check" their choices, students clip down and "lose food rations." By keeping students motivated and engaged, it improves classroom morale and keeps our behavior management positive and encouraging. We hope this is something that you can use and have fun with in your own classroom!
