Students need to learn how to become mathematical thinkers. One way to do this is by having the students reason their way to a solution through collaborative problem solving rather than having the teacher tell them how to do it.
Why should students engage in collaborative problem solving? Group problems enable students to communicate orally and through writing with their peers. The students are sometimes better at explaining concepts to each other than the teacher and are often more willing to take risks in small groups.
This product contains:
-11 group problem cards (2 to a page)
-Possible solutions (solutions may vary as many of the problems are open-ended)
