I initially designed these open-ended games for groups of speech students with very different goals. They are made to be versatile and quick games for reinforcement and motivation – no planning necessary to use them, and very little prep.
Each game includes 4 colored gameboards + tiles, as well as a black & white version of both the gameboard and tiles.
Students take their turn with whatever their target is: saying a word with their sound in it, defining a vocabulary word, completing a math problem – anything! Then, they reach into a box and pull out a tile. They match the picture on their tile to a picture on the board. If they already have the picture – they put it back and their turn is over. The first person to fill up their board will reveal the mystery phrase and wins the game!
This game is very simple, but kids really love it! I like it as an SLP because I can get so many repetitions out of the kids – the simplicity of the game means it moves quickly and we do a lot of practice.
Feedback from Buyers:
"These have been my absolute favorite quick and easy, "go to" activity this year! My students love trying to guess what the phrase is and I love that I can easily address all students needs with various stimuli cards but they can all play the same game together. I also love that it is quite and typically does not get competitive like many other games tend to do. Thank you!"
"Such a great way to target lots of goals in a group!"
"I am usually not a "bundle buyer" but these are all great! I played the Fall/Autumn one today and my second grade group absolutely loved it. It kept them engaged and motivated to figure out what was written on the board. They were highly motivated during the entire speech session!"
