Brrrr! These open ended games and activities will provide you with plenty of chilly weather fun or can be sent home for snow day homework.
Build a Snowman: This simple card game will have players collecting six parts to complete their snowman. "Coal" cards that slide behind the face and middle snowball to blacken the eyes and buttons will delight your students! Open-ended.
Mitten Reinforcement sheets (NO PREP): The first version contains 95 pairs of mittens plus and extra, unmatched mitten. Have students color in each mitten or mitten pair as a tally (for example during artic drills). As an added bonuse, who can find the unmatched mitten first? Version 2 contains 16 pairs plus and unmatched mitten for younger/visually distracted students.
Scarf writing sheets (NO PREP): Write target words on each stripe for articulation practice. Place a category at the top of each scarf and have students write an item that belongs on each stripe. Use in conjunction with description/EET lessons by writing an object on each scarf and have students fill in the descriptive words. (As a bonus, have them color the stripe to match the EET color prompt.) A blank scarf sheet allows your own creativity to go wild!
Swirling Snowflakes: Open ended game boards in two versions. The first has students moving by making color matches. The second has student moving by making snowflake matches.
Winter Attributes Game: Compare/Contrast (includes a Cariboo option!)
