This "All About Me" page is used at our Open House, but it can be used on the first days of a new school year.
I have all students write out their answers to the "All About Me" page, if it is during Open House parents can help them with their answers. After all students have completed the page I make our first classroom book. I copy the cover page on cardstock and colored ink and then use a plain piece of cardstock for the back cover. I enclose the student pages between the covers and bind or staple the book together.
During the first week of school, I have students read out their answers from their "All About Me" page as a get to know you activity for our classroom. I do a few each day, the kids just love talking about themselves and seeing what they have in common with other students in their new classroom.
See my Open House set at my store which includes many other ideas and forms for this special school day!
