Need a great activity for Open House? This is not only great, but it will turn into a memorable one as well! Have students practice their letter writing skills at the beginning of the year with this activity. Students will write a letter to their parents to tell them about their new classroom. They can share what their schedule is like, who is in their class, special happenings/places in their classroom, favorite Back to School activities, etc.
At Open House night, you'll set their letters out on their desk attached to construction paper with a blank copy of a letter from their parents next to their letter. That night, parents will be able to read their child's letter and write one back to them. It's a great opportunity for parents to encourage their child for the new school year or pass along words of praise.
Included are several letters with different backgrounds, all in black and white to help you save ink. You can choose from polka dot, chevron, gingham, zebra, or doodle frame.
