Does organizing supplies at the beginning of the year make you want to pull your hair out? ME TOO!
I am determined for this to be a smoother process this year, and so I created directions to place on student desks at Open House for parents to help their child sort.
Everyone does this a little bit differently. Because of that, I have made this an editable document. I do a combination of shared and personal supplies and have given explicit directions on where to put things, how to label them, etc.
All of my shared supplies are placed in the hallway in labeled bins (kleenex, hand wipes, etc.) This minimizes movement in the classroom.
When students arrive to their seat in the room there is a brown paper bag, a set of labels with their names on them, and black sharpies in the table caddys. Families use the list to label and separate supplies and best of ALL it frees you from answering a million questions about supplies!!
I printed my Supply Directions on orange card stock, so they will stand out so I can do meet and greets with families who have questions, etc. :)
I hope this helps you feel a little less crazy at the beginning of the year! Thanks for your purchase. :)
