A set of 5 open-ended problems (one for each day of the week) presenting a progressive solution to the problem of comparing the volumes and surface areas of two cylinders that have equal lateral areas. Each problem entails calculating another step in the overall solution. Modeled after those types of open-ended questions that appear on state standardized graduation tests. Comes with answer keys and a 4-point scoring rubric that's applicable to the last problem in the set. As an alternative the last problem can be presented as a single exercise where all students must complete all steps at once.
