EACH Activity Pack Includes:
* Color page with numbered sections (Numbers correspond with problems to solve)
* Problems sheet (Contains 16 problems to be solved)
* Color-coding chart tells students which shade to color each section (Easy grading!)
* Two answer keys (Problems sheet key and completed color page)

Specifics:
The majority of the 16 problems in EACH activity involve decimals to the tenths or hundredths place. A few involve whole numbers or decimals to the thousandths place. Some problems allow students to see the results of operating by powers of 10. The variety is intended to help students practice the skill with several decimal types.

After students initially learn how to operate with multi-digit decimals, this activity can be used as independent practice, skill reinforcement, or even as an alternative assessment. It can also be used as an assignment when you have a substitute teacher for the day.

Providing students a fun way to practice a foundational skill will surely increase student motivation and eventually their mastery of that skill. The answer keys provided allow you to do a quick check by using the completed color page to check students’ work or to do a more detailed assessment by checking individual problems with the problem sheet answer key. The problems page leaves plenty of room for students to show their work or for you to make corrections when assessing.

A Tip From My Classroom
When using this activity as independent practice in my own classroom, I have students work on completing the problems page while I walk around placing checkmarks on individual correct problems. I advise them not to begin coloring a section until I have checked the related problem for that section. This ensures that students do not color sections incorrectly, requiring a new color sheet. More importantly, it also allows for formative assessment and creates opportunities for individual help.
