Problem solving for students can be a tricky thing. Often times, difficulty arises in determining whether to add, subtract, multiply or divide. So the trick then, is decoding which of the four basic math operations are required to complete a task! These anchor charts will provide students with a quick visual and reference point to assist them in deciphering which operation they are required to use for any problem.
I have come up with a list of key words to look for that relate to each of the basic operations. I've included 'equals' as well. If you can think of essential words that you feel should be included, simply let me know via feedback, and I'll be happy to make any changes and repost.
There is a full colour and a black and white for each chart. This way you can choose to print in colour, or on coloured paper. As a bonus for downloading the preview to this product, I have included the addition charts for free.
