Turning Points in American History
This series charts the history of the United States during the 19th and 20th centuries by focusing on important events or movements in American history, looking at their causes and consequences. All lessons are designed to take between one and two weeks depending on their length.
Part four of the series helps students to understand the Second World War in the following areas:
1 - The Rise of Fascism & Nazi Germany
2 - The War in Europe (1939 - 1941)
3 - Pearl Harbor
4 - The Battle of Midway
5 - Stalingrad
6 - The War in Europe (1942 - 1945)
7 - The Holocaust
8 - The War in the Pacific (1943 - 1945)
Owing to the subject matter many presentations do include graphic images of death and destruction. If you feel these are inappropriate for your students please simply delete them as you see fit.
Part six deals with the causes, events, and consequences of the D Day landings in the west and Russian advances in the East during the last two years of the war.
