This Opinion/ Persuasive Writing Scoot Lesson uses picture clues and a topic to stimulate sharing personal opinions about a set topic or issue, and is a great way to demonstrate and practice correct use of persuasive language features such as strong words, noun groups, modality etc.
Students start at their first card and record their opinion on the topic using a complete sentence e.g. I agree because.... after a minute or two they scoot to the next sheet to record another opinion based on a new topic!
OUTCOME; 31 mind maps of agree or disagree opinions which means LOADS of stimulus material for students to use to write a complete exposition, a speech or even letters to the editor or principal!
