I love opinion writing and talking about character traits, and this activity has both! In this writing craftivity, students will pick what they feel is the most important character trait for a STUDENT to have. Responsible? Kind? Perseverant? Whatever they choose they have to be able to back it up with evidence!
A page to brainstorm positive traits for students
A bubble map to brainstorm reasons their selected trait is important
Two rough draft graphic organizers (one OREO style and one more basic)
Characters to color of kids demonstrating different character traits, these can be mounted on the final project
6 options for publishing final draft (three with room to draw a picture, three with room just for writing)
This is a great way to get your students writing their opinions as well as thinking of the type of student they want to be!
