In this packet there are 6 different opinion writing worksheets. Each for a different level of ability, with a different focus:
1- Opinion or Fact: differentiating between statements that are factual and statements that are opinions
2- Expressing Preference Given Choices: expressing their choice in writing given three options.
3- Making a Choice and Providing a Reason: practice stating an opinion in the form of a preference (about foods, activities, and toys) and providing a reason for their choice.
4- Making a Choice and Providing 2 Reasons: stating an opinion in the form of a preference and providing 2 reasons for their choice using a wordbank or coming up with own reasoning.
5- Making a Choice and Illustrating it: stating an opinion in the form of a preference (about foods, activities, and toys) and adding supportive illustration to their work to add details.
6- Opinion Writing- Step by Step: writing a multi-step writing piece (with illustrations) to express opinions about any given topic.
The worksheets in this packet can be used as teaching tools, a literacy/writing center, reviews, assessments, or in any other way you see fit. The absence of distracting graphics and decorations are a purposeful design choice to prevent pulling focus away from the learning and task at hand.
