I created this opinion resource for my students who are writing at varying levels at this point in the year. I wanted to give all of my students the opportunity to give their opinion about the same topic, but with varying levels of support. Each page comes with a writing prompt, as well as a built-in writing checklist that invites students to make sure they have started their sentences with capital letters, used finger spaces between each word, used the proper punctuation, sounded their words out, and matched their picture to their writing.
Some of the pages require students to think of their own answer (17 x 2) and some of the pages require students to make a choice between two options (16 x 2).
There are doubles of each prompt. One page includes support for emergent writers and the other just provides spaces for students to write.
W.K.1 Opinion Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose opinion pieces in which they tell a reader the topic or the name of the book they are writing about and state an opinion or preference about the topic or book.
