Product Description
I created this product to help my students see the different between opinion writing and informative writing. Many of my students did not understand that there are different elements to each type of writing.

This pack includes:

a. four paragraph sequence activities where the students are expected to glue the sentences in the correct order, then identify if it is an opinion or informative paragraph.
b. a word sort activity where students sort key words by the type of paragraph
c. 2 sets of task cards:
-one set includes a paragraph on each and students are expected to identify the type of paragraph (recording sheet included)
-one set includes writing prompts where students are to not only write, but identify the type of writing they are doing
(The students are also given a graphic organizer for each type and a writing paper to complete)
d. 2 posters defining each type of writing
e. a compare and contrast activity where students use a venn diagram to compare the two types of writing

I hope you find this resource as useful as I did! Happy teaching!
