Optimizations problems tend to be difficult for calculus students. These notes bring them back to finding the maximum of a parable using the axis of symmetry, and then using their calculus knowledge to solve a similar problem and find the same solution. This lesson optimizes revenue functions, a rectangle bounded by a function on the coordinate plane, the sum/product of two numbers, and the volume of a box. Notes and homework with answer keys are included. Some questions require the use of a graphing calculator, a calculator icon is next to each of those questions.
