This Oral Communication Unit is meant to be the first unit taught in ENG4U (Grade 12, English, University Preparation). However, it can be adapted and/or modified to fit any high school English level.
The purpose is to help student develop skills such as active listening, speaking to communicate, interpreting, inferring, participating in class discussions, and learning how to take notes for university-styled lectures. These skills create a foundation needed for the rest of the course, and will help prepare students for university.
