Oral reading is a skill that is only developed as it should be when we thoroughly teach students what it entails and then evaluate their progress. Use this form to provide students clear feedback on the 10 essential areas of effective oral reading. I began developing this tool over 20 years ago with middle school English students. I have adapted it to use with my high school ESL students. I usually provide them a recording of the text so they can listen and practice in advance. I believe this resource could be adapted and used with readers of all ages and abilities, in classroom as well as home school settings.
