Oral and Written Language
Our middle school Global Gateway curriculum is designed to provide you and your students with essential attitudes, skills, and knowledge for global citizenship, while exploring the complexity of current global issues. Through embedded social entrepreneurship principles, it promotes an understanding of the student as an active participant in the world with an important role and crucial responsibilities.
The curriculum is aligned to the Common Core Standards, P21 Standards - 21st Century Skills, National Educational Technology Standards, and Career Technical Education Standards. It is also organized in the following six main themes: Global Society, Global Geography, Global Environment, Global Education, Global Economy, and Global Politics.
"Oral and Written Language" is one of three in a Global Society unit. Students will explore the connectedness of the world’s people examining oral and written languages, and sports/leisure activities. They will be introduced to the concept of social entrepreneurship and think through solutions to global issues.
