This resource includes six sight reading examples each for violin, viola, and cello. The examples are 8 measures long and are all in D major. These examples use only the notes on the D and A strings. The rhythms included are quarter, half, and whole notes. There are no rests. These examples can be used to teach note reading and have students practice sight reading for an assessment or solo festival. The examples are consistent between the instruments so they can be used in an ensemble rehearsal or a teaching setting including multiple instrument types.
