When teaching math to my second grade students, it's always important for me to tie literature and math together...as often as I can.
This was a WONDERFUL fun lesson that I implemented in my math workshop. My students had been working on identifying coins and counting coins to $1.00.
I wanted to find a way for my students to think of money in a "real life" situation. So, I read the book "Pigs will be Pigs" by Amy Axelrod and created a simple menu to go along with the story.
This kit includes:
* a lesson plan
* a menu
* menu items to cut and paste into their order forms
* sample menu order page
* 5 opportunities to order items that total no more than $1.00
ORDER UP and enjoy!!!!
