Order of Operations is usually taught under the heading of "PEMDAS" but over time many students forget to solve left to right or what the letters really stand for in terms of finding the operations in an expression. This set gives students a grid to complete which uses the age-old acronym of PEMDAS but breaks each step down providing explanation, symbols to look for, and the reminder to always solve left to right.
Student notes handout explaining how to follow order of operations including what symbols to look for and what order to solve them in.
Teacher notes page explaining how to use the order of operations checklist (a visual grid students can utilize for beginning or struggling learners that acts as a checklist.)
A blank worksheet/note page with the grid for students to complete while you teach and explain.
Miniature blank versions of the grid to use as an entrance or exit ticket or quick assessment/quiz.
Completed classroom reference sheets in 3 sizes (quarter page, half page, and full page) which can be printed, laminated, and hung as a visual reminder. They can also be used during centers as students work on an order of operations activity/worksheet.
